Product - Strategic Product Owner
About the role
Works with Product Management and stakeholders to understand Features and with the ScrumMaster and Agile Team to develop smaller, incremental stories and iteration deliverables based on those Features. Works with other Product Owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize stories and determine dependencies.
Responsibilities
- Owns the team backlog, defining stories, establishing story acceptance criteria and leading story refinement for preparation of iteration planning and program increment planning.
- Works with the ScrumMaster and Agile team to provide solutions to effectively address program solutions.
- Assists in managing requirements and prioritization within the Product Backlog through: business value ROI, alignment with Product Strategy, and resource capacity.
- Leverages solid working relationships with business and product stakeholders.
- Affords assistance in the integration of programs across channels with internal partners and manages program effectiveness against target metrics.
- Utilizes effective communication skills to surface essential requirements information.
- Under general supervision, defines and clearly articulates requirements (User Stories) and acceptance criteria (Use Cases).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or related area required. Additional related experience may offset degree requirements.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in industry or supporting business or technologies that includes Project Management experience and/or SAFe Product Manager/Owner experience. Additional related skills, education/degree may offset experience requirements.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical, computer and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of Agile and Lean values/concepts and scaling with SAFe framework required.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex ideas, break them down into smaller, sequential plans, while understanding interdependencies to deliver solutions.
- Uses solutions-based thinking in problem solving, asking probing questions and looking for underlying issues.
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paid at $5,960.29/mo - $13,006.09/mo in Pittsburgh, PA or $5,662.27/mo - $12,355.79/mo in Memphis, TN.
- Hybrid position located in Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA.
- Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location.
- Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.
