Product Specialist - Lighting

Job Description Summary

The Product Specialist assists Outside Sales to grow sales and promote the company's products to potential customers. They provide product knowledge and address customer inquiries, building strong relationships and recommending suitable products.

What You'll Do

• Develop and demonstrate deep understanding of company products
• Stay updated on industry trends and market dynamics
• Identify and pursue sales opportunities through various channels
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and objections professionally
• Present proposals to all levels of leadership and technical audiences
• Enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge through participation in meetings and training
• Support branches and customers with product, technical support, and training
• Analyze market potential and develop an annual business plan

Qualifications

• 4+ years of sales experience
• Electrical distribution industry or related experience required
• High School or GED
• Product and application knowledge required
• Effective communication skills with outside sales staff, customers, and co-workers
• Ability to prioritize and organize job tasks
• Mathematical calculations required
• Willingness to pitch in and help others and work in a team-based environment
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Intermediate/advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word
