Position Overview – Product Specialist II - Pre-launch Home Appliances
The Product Specialist II is the go-to expert on a Home Appliance product, supporting it from development through launch. This role develops product launch plans, ensures products meet quality standards, and works closely with cross-functional teams — including HQ, product engineers, contact center, training, and field service — to keep projects on schedule and ready for market.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new model concept, functions, and design for quality improvement prior to mass production
- Collaborate with HQ and factories to ensure new products are ready for launch, confirming all necessary requirements are met, including product evaluation, user trial, and training
- Conduct data-based quality sensing with a primary focus on Annual Service Rate analysis for Home Appliance product improvement
- Analyze, evaluate, and test various Home Appliance product categories' top symptoms and issues that drive high Redo rates; identify root cause and corrective actions with internal teams, HQ, and factories
- Identify and address any issues that may impact product launch by working closely with cross-functional teams, including HQ, product engineers, contact center, training, and field service
- Demonstrate the value of product technology to advance customer objectives
- Provide insight and thought leadership concerning applicability of highly complex products
- Recommend product and service configurations to assist with system design and integration as necessary
- Ensure product quality expectations are defined and known across the team
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required; MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
- 2–4 years of experience required
- Strong understanding of product development or management process, with experience in a home appliance-related field
- Understanding of manufacturing, engineering, and product design
- Experience with quality analysis, product testing, and validation
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer applications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
- Korean bilingual preferred, not required
Must-Have
- 2–4 years of Home Appliance experience with in-home service experience & Home Appliance product management, development, or related field
- Ability to develop and maintain product readiness plans, including timelines, milestones, and key deliverables
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
