About the role

WildChina is seeking a China-based travel professional proficient in both English and Mandarin to join our marketing team. The ideal candidate will work across the marketing and travel designer teams to design new travel products aligned with WildChina's development strategy.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Take full ownership of 1-3 specialized product portfolios, managing everything from initial development and coordination through launch, team training, and ongoing optimization.
  • Portfolio Performance: Drive the success of your product portfolio (1-4 product communities), contributing to annual revenue targets of RMB 10-15 million through strategic product development and market positioning.
  • Performance Excellence: Achieve annual performance targets related to product quality, revenue generation, customer satisfaction, and operational delivery.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends by researching evolving customer needs, emerging travel preferences, and competitive landscape to inform product innovation and strategy.
  • Product Strategy & Positioning: Define what makes each product unique—identifying core features, crafting compelling value propositions, and determining optimal market positioning to attract target audiences.
  • Data & Systems Management: Maintain excellence in product data quality across all platforms (website, CRM, internal databases), ensuring accurate, complete, and compelling product information.
  • New Product Creation: Collaborate with the travel designer team and high-level experts to conceptualize and develop new expert-led journeys, immersive day experiences, walking tours, and sample itineraries that expand WildChina’s portfolio.
  • Compelling Content Development: Write captivating product descriptions, experience narratives, hotel write-ups, expert biographies, and trip introductions that inspire travelers and communicate value.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of all website products to identify and correct errors, gaps, or inconsistencies, ensuring a polished customer experience.
  • Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Subject Matter Expertise: Become the recognized go-to expert for your product communities, providing guidance and insights to colleagues across the organization.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Work closely with operations, sales, customer service, AI teams, and external partners to ensure seamless product delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Training & Enablement: Design and deliver engaging product training sessions for sales and customer service teams; create comprehensive guide training materials and coordinate with operations to ensure guides are fully prepared.
  • Guide Quality Management: Interview and assess guides to ensure they meet WildChina’s standards for knowledge, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Knowledge Infrastructure: Collaborate with operations and technology teams to build and maintain centralized resource hubs for product information, updates, and best practices.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Partner with the social media team to develop promotional content and coordinate collaborative marketing initiatives with experts, including social media partnerships and guest content creation.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in both Mandarin and English (able to translate from Mandarin to English with ease)
  • Ability to professionally communicate with high-level experts and VIP partners
  • A passion for travel, adventure, and storytelling
  • Knowledge of and express interest in China, including its culture, politics, geography, and travel destinations
  • At least one year of experience in the travel industry and/or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably business, marketing, or communications
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to track and achieve performance targets
  • Collaborative team player with leadership potential
