Product Specialist
About the role
We are looking for a Product Specialist to join our Health & Biosciences team. This role can be based in Chatswood, Sydney, Australia (Zenith Centre) — preferable — or Madison, Wisconsin, USA, and follows a hybrid working model. You will help transform customer opportunities into successful commercial solutions while supporting key business initiatives across Oceania and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). You will serve as a central point of coordination across multiple functions, helping guide products through commercialization, change management, and lifecycle support.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate customer projects across commercialization, product change management, and lifecycle support, helping ensure projects move forward with clear ownership and visibility.
- Support the Oceania and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Sub-Regional Industrial Leads and Sales Team by gathering information to assess customer opportunities, feasibility, prioritization, risks, and project success factors.
- Partner with Product Development, Contract Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality and Food Safety, and Regulatory teams to support proposed formulations, samples, packaging proposals, tolling options, and quality or regulatory issue resolution.
- Initiate and oversee workflows related to the creation of new stock keeping units, including project timelines, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional deliverables.
- Work with Quality and Food Safety teams to support new raw material approvals, product setup, purchasing specifications, and accurate setup in business systems such as SAP, PriceForce, and product description platforms.
- Manage artwork changes for finished format stock keeping units, including customer approvals, internal reviews, transition timing, and disposition of obsolete packaging.
- Initiate and oversee workflows related to modifications to existing stock keeping units, including defining requested changes, assessing impact, entering modification requests, and supporting implementation.
- Manage customer special requests for product information and samples while supporting innovation projects, key business initiatives, and performance metric communications.
- Coordinate IFF Probiotic site visits for customers, provide backup support for other Product Specialists, and travel occasionally to trade shows, customer locations, and third-party tolling partners.
Requirements
- Experience in a role related to technology, research and development, project management, business development, marketing, sales, quality assurance, or a similar function.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage both short-term and long-term projects with strong follow-through.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple customer projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence others and accomplish goals through partnership.
- Excellent customer interaction, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with SAP or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to identify, assess, and manage project risks, dependencies, and implementation details.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when managing product information, workflows, approvals, specifications, and system setup.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, marketing, business, science, or related field.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with probiotics, dietary supplements, food ingredients, food and beverage, or pediatric nutrition.
- Experience with probiotics manufacturing operations, quality management systems, or dietary supplement product workflows.
- Six Sigma, Lean, or similar continuous improvement experience or certification.
