About the role
This role is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and competitive positioning of ID Technology’s print-and-apply product lines. The position works cross-functionally with vendors, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure product development, launches, and ongoing support align with market demands and deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Product & Application Engineering
- Lead application engineering efforts for print-and-apply systems across diverse customer environments
- Validate new products performance, reliability, and market readiness
- Evaluate existing equipment performance, including repair history and runtime, and recommend improvements
- Review and approve custom/turnkey application designs prior to sale
- Assist with Product managers to maintain CPQ being functional and correct
- Customer Solutions & Pre-Sales Support
- Conduct site surveys and develop tailored application solutions
- Provide application samples, print samples, application rates, quotations, and technical recommendations
- Evaluate existing machinery and recommend optimized spare parts kits and pricing
- Partner with sales to support product demonstrations and custom solution development
- Contribute to the product line and growth of sales
- Product Management & Strategy
- Collaborate with product managers and marketing on product launches, sales tools, and promotional materials
- Work with Sales Management and Marketing to support pricing strategy development and maintain product price lists
- Maintain competitive analysis and provide actionable insights to the sales team
- Vendor & OEM Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for vendor communication
- Support OEM development initiatives and ongoing partnerships
- Monitor product quality and resolve vendor-related issues
- Assist in setting appropriate stocking levels for equipment and parts
- Project & Operations Management
- Lead along with product managers & project management efforts for large or complex installations
- Maintain accurate install base records and reference accounts
- Identify opportunities to streamline surveys, quoting, and order entry through software tools
- Ensure all technical and sales resources are up-to-date and accessible via internal systems
Requirements
- Proven mechanical and electrical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business software tools
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent customer-facing and relationship management skills
- Electrical or mechanical engineering experience
- Ability to take and edit digital photographs
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, RS232)
- Strong analytical and presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with continuous improvement training
- Preferred skills and experience with printing, coding, or marking equipment
- Strong industry knowledge within packaging, labeling, or automation
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 60+ lbs
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–30%
