About the role

The Engineer – Generator and Electrical Systems Product Service Engineering will collaborate with global teams to strengthen expertise in generator and electrical system technology. This role supports root cause investigations, resolves customer technical issues, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, effective solutions that support fleet reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global cross functional teams to build expertise in generator and electrical system technology.
  • Support root cause investigations for issues with significant fleet impact, from initial investigation through the CAPA phase.
  • Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using technical product knowledge and analytical skills as well as subject matter experts (SME) while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Escalate fleet issues as required, acting as the liaison between the site team and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and help identify and drive corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain active collaboration with cross functional teams such as manufacturing, sourcing, service operations, quality, and design engineering to ensure customer technical issues and requirements are understood and addressed in a timely manner, in accordance with established processes.
  • Communicate progress across all levels of the organization, including plant operators and executive leaders.
  • Support cross-functional teams at conferences, user groups, and customer meetings.
  • Support authoring of knowledge articles and customer communications, including TILs (Technical Information Letters), PSSBs (Product Service Safety Bulletins), PSIBs (Product Service Information Bulletins), and safety communications.
  • Support preparation of technical presentations for GE Vernova leaders and customers, ensuring timely communication of significant issues or developments.
  • Travel to customer locations to support customer technical review meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in generator engineering or related technology.

Desired Characteristics

  • Engineering degree, preferably in electrical, mechanical, materials, or systems engineering.
  • Experience working with field data and information.
  • Six Sigma/Lean training experience.
  • Able to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role; strong commercial mindset.
  • Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct cross-functional projects and work, with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Able to work well with cross-functional teams and communicate requests and requirements clearly.
  • Able to develop relationships across the organization to build loyalty and commitment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.

Pay

The pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
