Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain product-specific Quality Plans that define quality requirements, inspection criteria, and control methods across the product lifecycle.
- Lead the execution of the Product Quality Assurance Program, including defect management, nonconformance reporting, supplier oversight, internal audits, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and product release processes.
- Review and approve supplier and manufacturing quality plans to ensure alignment with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Lead root-cause and causal analysis investigations for product failures, field issues, and customer complaints, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct product and process audits, supplier assessments, and quality system evaluations; document findings and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; partner with cross-functional teams to implement mitigation and improvement strategies.
- Ensure quality personnel are properly trained, qualified, and equipped to support product inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with product engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to ensure quality expectations are understood and met.
- Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement, encouraging early reporting of quality concerns and driving proactive problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field with 5+ years of product quality experience; or an associate degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma/GED with 12–15+ years of relevant quality background.
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and end-to-end product lifecycle quality practices.
- Proficiency with root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, 8D, or DMAIC.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/TS standards, and product-specific regulations).
- Experience managing supplier quality, including incoming inspection processes and supplier audits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and product test requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation abilities, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Highly analytical, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities while driving continuous improvement and customer-focused quality.
