Product Quality Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Manage first production retains (storage and cataloging).
• Lead the cooking, preparing, and presenting of samples for weekly end-of-shelf-life evaluations.
• Conduct independent product quality evaluations and store walks to investigate potential product quality issues.
• Report evaluation results and investigation findings to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain, clean, and organize the product quality lab and equipment.
• Update lab policies and procedures.
• Perform other miscellaneous product quality and administrative duties as necessary.

Requirements

Top 3 Must-Have Hard Skills

• Food experience: food preparation, lab, or CBG product experience.
• Data analysis experience, specifically in root cause problem solving.
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft suite; Smartsheet experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field from an accredited university.
• 1-2 years of experience working in the consumer-packaged goods industry or laboratory setting.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and deliver against rapid timelines.
• Detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to anticipate team needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to excel in team settings.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Good typing skills and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in product development and/or quality assurance.
• Understanding of and experience in general food/manufacturing processing and laboratory techniques.
• A passion for food and strong culinary skills.
• Industrial maintenance experience.
