Product Promoter
About the role
The Product Promoter (Flooring) is responsible for increasing brand awareness and driving product visibility for MSI's flooring portfolio by merchandising customer locations, delivering product knowledge seminars, and providing product training to customer sales teams. This role serves as a brand ambassador, building strong customer relationships while ensuring MSI products are professionally displayed and effectively promoted.
Responsibilities
- Promote MSI's flooring product portfolio by merchandising displays and maintaining product presentation standards at customer locations.
- Visit retailers, dealers, landscaping yards, builders, architects, designers, kitchen dealers, and other strategic customers to increase product awareness and brand visibility.
- Conduct product knowledge seminars, demonstrations, and training sessions to educate customers and their sales teams on MSI products, features, and applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to support customer retention and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Cook up with customers to ensure appropriate quantities of promotional materials, merchandising displays, samples, and marketing collateral are available.
- Maintain accurate customer records, merchandising activities, and sales reports within company systems.
- Attend and represent MSI at trade shows, conventions, customer events, and industry seminars.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and supporting merchandising initiatives.
- Operate an MSI company vehicle to transport merchandising materials, displays, and promotional products to customer locations.
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to support merchandising activities and customer engagement.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or related college coursework is preferred.
- Candidates with equivalent education, demonstrated skills, and relevant professional experience will also be considered.
- Two (2)+ years of experience in merchandising, retail, sales support, customer service, or a related professional environment.
- Retail merchandising experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver product presentations and customer training.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, proactive, and able to work independently with a strong sense of urgency.
- Strong listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using iPads, iPhones, smartphones, or other mobile technology for business purposes is preferred.
- Able to maintain accurate customer records, reports, and merchandising documentation.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time within the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate an MSI company vehicle.
- Frequent travel (up to 80%) to customer locations, trade shows, and industry events.
- Regular operation of an MSI company vehicle to transport merchandising displays, promotional materials, and product samples.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, assembling, and positioning of merchandising displays and product samples as needed.
- Combination of field-based customer visits and occasional office work.
