Product Performance Engineer

About the role

The Product Performance Engineer will own and lead the capital device reliability program at Elucent. This role is responsible for defining and implementing methods to collect service and performance data, investigating service events, participating in depot service repairs, analyzing and trending reliability information, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role will collaborate closely with Operations, Development, Field, and Quality teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and effective project execution. In addition, this role will provide input on new project initiatives to establish proactive reliability requirements and support lifecycle activities, including new customer configurations.

Job Responsibilities

• Use capital system returns and service data to create reliability projects to improve system robustness.
• Cook up with Operations, Development, Quality and Field Service to prioritize and implement these projects.
• Be a hands-on role, where the candidate is expected to learn the technology from the ground up and be directly involved in troubleshooting investigations and data analysis.
• Develop metrics like MTBF, return rates, and/or pareto trending to monitor performance and keep the organization apprised of system performance.
• Participate in new development projects to recommend design for manufacturability and reliability requirements based on their experiences and data collected through robustness projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years BS in Engineering
• Manufacturing & Development experience required
• Experience in reliability engineering or lifecycle improvement projects
• Project management experience
• Medical Device/Industry experience
• Startup, small business experience preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency

Physical Requirements / Work Conditions

• Ability to lift 30+ pounds, move equipment, and shipping containers.
