Product Op Model Transformation Senior Consultant
About the role
Slalom is seeking talented consultants to support organizations through modernization of their product operating models and ways of working, including accelerating product results by enabling the PDLC with AI. This is a hybrid role with on-site expectations in Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO, Detroit, MI, and Minneapolis, MN.
Responsibilities
Assess Maturity of Product Organizations - Perform organizational assessments, analyze current state processes and structures, gather stakeholder input through interviews and surveys, and synthesize findings into actionable insights
Infuse AI into the Product Lifecycle - Identify and enable AI tools and capabilities, assist in evaluating AI solutions for product workflows, support pilot programs, and help document AI best practices
Create Documentation - Develop documentation including process maps, organizational charts, role definitions, playbooks, training materials, and presentation decks that support transformation initiatives
Facilitate Workshops and Training - Lead team-level workshops, deliver training sessions on agile practices and product management techniques, facilitate retrospectives and planning sessions, and support change adoption activities
Implement Transformation Initiatives - Identify value streams and shape cross-functional teams, help establish cadences and practices, optimize tools and systems, and guide teams through adoption of new ways of working
Track Progress and Outcomes - Collect and analyze metrics, create dashboards and reports, monitor adoption and performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement
Contribute to Team Success - Collaborate with engagement teams, share knowledge and lessons learned, support proposal development, and continuously develop your own skills and expertise
Requirements
- 6+ years in product management, agile coaching, scrum master, or related roles with at least 1 year in consulting or client-facing positions
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and product management practices
- Familiarity with AI tools and their application in product development workflows
- Working knowledge of product operating models, value stream management, or lean portfolio management concepts
- Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, or team ceremonies
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agileist, Product Owner certifications, IC Agile)
- Experience in multiple industries or business contexts
- Technical background or technical fluency
- Experience with collaboration and portfolio management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Miro, etc.)
- Interest in thought leadership through writing, speaking, or community participation
