About the role

Slalom is seeking talented consultants to support organizations through modernization of their product operating models and ways of working, including accelerating product results by enabling the PDLC with AI. As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in our Modern Product Org capability, you'll contribute to transformations that reshape how organizations build, deliver, and evolve products and services in the modern era, working in one or more of these areas:

  • Architecting Modern Product Operating Models – Help design value-centric organizational structures, governance frameworks, and operating rhythms that enable cross-functional teams to deliver customer value at scale and with speed, including Product Operating Models for AI Products, Data Products, and Platforms as Product
  • Integrating AI into Product Strategy and Product Management – Help clients integrate AI throughout the product delivery lifecycle, from idea or need to realized value, accelerating learning and results through experimentation and validation
  • Organizing Around Value Streams – Support the design and execution of transformation strategies that reshape how organizations structure, fund, and operate their product portfolios
  • Implementing Lean Portfolio Management – Assist in establishing systems that connect strategy to execution through value stream funding, portfolio governance, and metrics that optimize investment decisions and value delivery
  • Enabling Enterprise Agility – Support organizations in adopting scaled agile frameworks and practices that optimize flow, minimize dependencies, and foster continuous improvement and outcome-focused delivery

Responsibilities

  • Assess Maturity of Product Organizations - Perform organizational assessments, analyze current state processes and structures, gather stakeholder input through interviews and surveys, and synthesize findings into actionable insights
  • Infuse AI into the Product Lifecycle – Identify and enable AI tools and capabilities, assist in evaluating AI solutions for product workflows, support pilot programs, and help document AI best practices
  • Develop frameworks and deliverables - Create documentation including process maps, organizational charts, role definitions, playbooks, training materials, and presentation decks that support transformation initiatives
  • Facilitate workshops and training - Lead team-level workshops, deliver training sessions on agile practices and product management techniques, facilitate retrospectives and planning sessions, and support change adoption activities
  • Implement transformation initiatives – Identify value streams and shape cross-functional teams, help establish cadences and practices, optimize tools and systems, and guide teams through adoption of new ways of working
  • Track progress and outcomes - Collect and analyze metrics, create dashboards and reports, monitor adoption and performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement
  • Contribute to team success - Collaborate with engagement teams, share knowledge and lessons learned, support proposal development, and continuously develop your own skills and expertise

Requirements

Experiences & Expertise:

  • 5+ years in product management, agile coaching, scrum master, or related roles with at least 1 year in consulting or client-facing positions (for Consultant level)
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and product management practices
  • Familiarity with AI tools and their application in product development workflows
  • Working knowledge of product operating models, value stream management, or lean portfolio management concepts
  • Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, or team ceremonies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, Product Owner certifications, ICAgile)
  • Experience in multiple industries or business contexts
  • Technical background or technical fluency
  • Experience with collaboration and portfolio management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Miro, etc.)
  • Interest in thought leadership through writing, speaking, or community participation

Pay

The targeted base salary pay range for the Consultant role is $77,000 to $106,000 and Senior Consultant role is $102,000 to $145,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
