About Arcell
Arcell is building an AI data scientist for trusted answers across disconnected systems.
Defense operators and engineers often need to analyze information spread across logistics, maintenance, engineering, supplier, cyber, and operational systems. Arcell assembles the relevant context and produces evidence-linked answers with source-level provenance, explicit uncertainty, reproducible analysis, and human oversight.
We are initially focused on defense logistics, readiness, acquisition, and other mission-critical workflows where decisions must be explainable, traceable, and grounded in evidence.
The Opportunity
This internship is designed for students interested in product marketing, product strategy, defense technology, artificial intelligence, enterprise software, or government innovation.
You will work directly with the founder on real questions shaping Arcell’s market entry:
- Which defense workflow should Arcell address first?
- Who experiences the problem, influences adoption, and controls the purchase?
- What evidence demonstrates that the problem is urgent and funded?
- How should Arcell explain its value to operators, technical leaders, program offices, primes, and investors?
- Which procurement, partnership, and outreach channels can lead to discovery conversations and pilots?
This is a research- and deliverable-driven role with substantial independence, structured mentorship, and direct exposure to early-stage product and go-to-market decisions.
Responsibilities
Depending on your interests and experience, your work may include:
- Research defense logistics, readiness, sustainment, acquisition, and industrial-base workflows
- Analyze government strategies, solicitations, procurement records, public mission signals, and customer requirements
- Evaluate potential beachhead markets and develop ideal customer profiles
- Map operational users, technical evaluators, acquisition stakeholders, champions, and decision-makers
- Build voice-of-customer and voice-of-mission libraries using cited primary sources
- Develop buyer personas, use-case cards, pilot hypotheses, and customer-discovery questions
- Research target organizations, primes, program offices, innovation units, and dual-use manufacturers
- Evaluate acquisition and access channels such as SBIR/STTR, DIU, Tradewinds, APEX Accelerators, industry events, partnerships, and direct outreach
- Develop product positioning, messaging hierarchies, competitive analyses, and objection-handling materials
- Draft one-pagers, website copy, pitch materials, outreach messages, use-case booklets, and product narratives
- Test messaging with prospective users and buyers, then recommend improvements based on evidence
- Work with technical materials to translate Arcell’s provenance, context, and AI capabilities into clear customer value
All defense-related work will use public, unclassified information.
Example Projects
- Compare candidate defense segments and recommend one primary market beachhead
- Build a buyer-committee map for a defense logistics organization or program
- Create a scorecard comparing procurement, partnership, and customer-access channels
- Research target accounts and identify relevant public signals, roles, introduction paths, and discovery hypotheses
- Develop messaging for logistics operators, acquisition leads, data and AI leaders, and defense manufacturers
- Validate pilot opportunities involving recurring investigations across disconnected logistics or readiness data
- Compare Arcell with broad data platforms, AI data agents, business-intelligence tools, data catalogs, and internal development
- Produce a source-backed use-case booklet and discovery toolkit
Requirements
We are looking for intellectually curious, highly organized students who can turn ambiguous questions into clear, evidence-backed recommendations.
Strong candidates will demonstrate:
- Excellent written communication
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Ability to synthesize technical, market, and customer information
- Comfort working independently in an early-stage environment
- Careful source evaluation and attention to factual accuracy
- Interest in AI, defense technology, enterprise software, product strategy, or government innovation
- Willingness to test assumptions and revise recommendations when evidence changes
Qualifications
Bonus Qualifications
- Coursework or experience in marketing, business, public policy, international affairs, engineering, computer science, economics, or a related field
- Experience with customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis, or product positioning
- Familiarity with defense acquisition, SBIR/STTR, government procurement, logistics, or the defense industrial base
- Experience creating presentations, one-pagers, market maps, or structured research deliverables
- Familiarity with ClickUp, Google Workspace, Figma, Canva, LinkedIn, or generative AI tools
- Prior startup, research, consulting, military, government, or student-organization experience
Prior defense experience is helpful but not required. The ability to learn quickly, work carefully with primary sources, and communicate clearly matters more.
Compensation and Academic Credit
This is an unpaid, educational internship.
We can work with your university to support academic credit where available and provide mentorship, project supervision, learning objectives, and required internship or capstone documentation.
Interns who perform exceptionally may be considered for future paid internships, fellowships, or full-time opportunities as Arcell grows.
