The Product Manager, Permitting & Licensing role is seeking a strategic leader to drive the evolution of a mission-critical SaaS product serving public sector organizations. Key responsibilities include:
- Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for permitting and licensing solutions.
- Partner with engineering teams to transform product strategy into actionable user stories, features, and technical priorities while managing backlogs through Agile methodologies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on permitting, licensing, inspections, and government workflows, helping teams understand customer needs and industry requirements.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback, regulatory changes, market trends, and competitive insights to guide product decisions and prioritization.
- Collaborate with Customer Success, Implementation, Sales, and Marketing teams to support adoption, product positioning, launches, demonstrations, and customer education.
- Develop data-driven business cases for new capabilities and improvements that deliver measurable customer and business value.
- Use analytics, AI capabilities, and customer insights to improve product discovery, prioritization, and overall user experience.
- Build strong relationships with customers and represent the product vision in meetings, conferences, and industry events.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within SaaS, GovTech, workflow automation, or business process software environments.
- Experience with permitting, licensing, inspections, community development, land management, or related government technology solutions is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to convert customer needs into product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritized feature development plans.
- Familiarity with modern SaaS architectures, including technologies such as .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, and cloud platforms, with Azure experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using customer data, metrics, and insights to support product decisions.
- Experience collaborating with Agile development teams and using tools such as Jira.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Public Administration, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on product execution in a fast-moving environment.
