Product Manager III - Tech, Reputation Marketing & Insights
Reputation Marketing & Insights (RMI) is seeking a Technical Product Manager to define the product and technology strategy for the team’s survey-based measurement platform. This system determines how hundreds of millions of dollars in reputation marketing investment are defined, measured, and optimized. The role demands resourcefulness, big-picture thinking grounded in details, and the ability to translate complex research requirements into scalable technical solutions—all while navigating high ambiguity and rapid change.
About the role
The selected individual will own the full lifecycle of survey-based measurement products—from audience definition and instrument design through data integration, analysis infrastructure, and stakeholder-facing outputs. You will define product strategy, methodology, technology approach, and vendor relationships, delivering independently with limited guidance.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of RMI’s survey measurement platform.
- Define and scale product solutions that replace manual research processes, collaborating with media, data science, public policy, creative teams, and external research agency partners.
- Architect a system connecting survey instruments to operational data—media delivery logs, audience segment behavior, earned media signals, and programmatic outcomes—to explain why survey results move, not just that they moved.
- Evaluate and leverage AI/ML tools, large language models, and agentic frameworks to accelerate research workflows, improve analytical depth, and reduce dependency on manual vendor processes.
- Define technical requirements, including survey instrument APIs, data integrations, attribution frameworks, and cloud architecture, and determine when new technology is needed.
- Manage external research agency partnerships and own the long-term build-vs-buy roadmap for measurement capabilities.
- Ensure measurement product quality, methodological rigor, research operations uptime, and strategic relevance.
- Build audience segmentation methodology to define persuasion targets and optimize paid channel reach.
- Run crosstabs and statistical tests on weighted survey data, translating findings into actionable recommendations for spend reallocation or targeting adjustments.
- Define operational handoffs between campaign execution and measurement systems.
- Adapt measurement methodology in real-time to address volatile public affairs issues that shift faster than traditional research cycles.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
- Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition for a product.
- Experience with feature delivery, tradeoffs, and full product lifecycle management.
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy.
- Experience managing technical products or online services.
- Experience representing and advocating for diverse stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
- Experience in an operational environment developing, fast-prototyping, piloting, and launching analytic products.
- Experience leading and influencing teams or organizations, or experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals (architecture, training/inference lifecycles, model execution optimization).
- Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably AWS), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), AI tools for development productivity, contributing to open-source projects, and/or version control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights.
- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience analyzing data quantitatively and using customer research, metrics, and KPIs to validate assumptions, identify opportunities, and assess marketing program efficacy.
- Experience on the research vendor side or within a research group at a media company.
- Experience communicating complex information to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
- Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support business decisions.
- Experience with explainable machine learning and artificial intelligence methodologies and tools.
