About the role

The Product Manager is responsible for overall business and product development activities, including technical and commercial quoting, leading development, and improving new and existing products to meet organizational, market, and customer expectations. This role involves interfacing with customers, internal teams (customer service, engineering, marketing, operations), and sales personnel to grow product value.

The Product Manager defines the product vision, gathers and prioritizes requirements, and works closely with Application Engineers, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver winning products. They manage the product throughout its lifecycle, define the release process, and ensure alignment with the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison & Communication
    • Represents and engages with business users as a fully integrated team member.
    • Communicates the project vision at the beginning of every release and sprint.
    • Makes business decisions and communicates requirements through epics and stories.
    • Provides status updates to stakeholders outside the team.
  • Development
    • Creates, maintains, prioritizes, and sequences the product backlog based on business value or ROI.
    • Develops user stories and acceptance tests for sprints.
    • Prioritizes user stories by business value and schedules them into sprints.
    • Participates in Scrum-related meetings (stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, planning, demos).
  • Application Support
    • Reviews deliverable code after every sprint and accepts or rejects it.
    • Develops and maintains testing and progress visibility standards.
    • Assists with backlog maintenance, defect prioritization, and resolution.
    • Translates business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
    • Allocates resources, runs design sprints, and prioritizes product features.
  • Management
    • Participates proactively in team activities and remains accessible.
    • Steers projects to ensure delivery of business value.
    • Plans and designs the product roadmap.
    • Provides encouragement, recognition, and support to the team.
    • Terminates sprints if drastic changes in direction are required.
    • Adjusts project course at the end of sprints as necessary.
    • Determines pricing, revenue modeling, and success metrics.
    • Ensures timely product completion without cost overruns.
  • Other Duties
    • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Formal Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge & Experience
    • Two or more years of product or project management experience.
    • Five or more years of experience in a related stakeholder function.
    • Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
    • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
    • Understanding of testing practices and techniques.
    • Familiarity with the organization’s development platform and languages.
    • Ability to understand technical issues.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule available after training (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other components.
