About the role
The Product Manager is accountable for managing a specific product type, category, class, or supplier to:
- Provide the correct mix and inventory levels of products required to meet customer needs and sales requirements.
- Minimize costs and maximize profits through effective inventory management, purchasing decisions, and supplier relationships.
- Enhance the image of TTI in the marketplace as the distributor of choice.
- Achieve corporate sales, gross profit margin, and pre-tax profit goals.

Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a productive Product Team by hiring qualified people, utilizing effective communication and motivational techniques, providing ongoing performance management, and offering training and succession planning.
- Effectively manage inventory within company goals for assigned product type, category, class, or supplier to maintain the correct mix that meets corporate financial objectives and customer requirements.
- Support sales to increase business and achieve customer satisfaction by working directly with suppliers on quotes to obtain the most competitive position possible.
- Consult with TTI sales representatives regarding customer needs, product features, product availability, and cost issues to maximize sales potential.
- Provide ongoing education and promotion when interacting with the sales organization to effectively market the product type or supplier.
- Develop and maintain successful supplier relationships, offering product solutions and unique advantages to position TTI as the preferred partner for suppliers and customers.
- Maintain system integrity by ensuring TTI systems and databases reflect accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date product-related information (e.g., increment quantity, minimum order quantities, correct costs, delivery information).
- Process and resolve accounting, receiving, and customer-rejected concerns by researching issues, determining resolutions, and providing disposition for nonconforming products.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Three years of progressive industry-related experience in product management, distribution, asset management, sales, marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships, preferably within the electronic component distribution industry.
- Proven track record in strategic decision-making for inventory and cost management.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking.
- Decision-making in complex purchasing scenarios.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management and product lifecycle.
This position requires access to information or hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). To qualify, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
