Product Manager, Firewall

About the role

This role comes with significant responsibility, autonomy, and direct impact on customer outcomes. You will work on features for our firewall, such as Site-to-Site VPN, ACLs, BGP over WAN, BGP over AutoVPN, DNS security, IDS/IPS, etc.

Responsibilities

• Work with firewall firmware engineers to design features and weigh in the tradeoffs
• Understand and organize requests from the support team
• Triage bugs found by the Quality Engineering (QE) team
• Join QBR calls with a customer
• Plan a weekly roadmap with our cofounder

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of routing, ACLs, NAT, BGP, OSPF, and packet policy
• Experience in enterprise security or networking industry
• Deep understanding of how IT administrators and network engineers use products
• Ability to communicate with clarity across technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work with teams without needing formal authority

Qualifications

• Ready to override past experiences regarding architecture, feature velocity, team collaboration, and product quality
• Able to learn how backend, frontend, and models teams work in the first 12 months at Meter
• Able to make quick decisions, experiment readily, and keep an open mind

Benefits

• Compensation range: $205,000 - $275,000
• Eligible to participate in Meter's equity plan

Pay

The estimated base salary for this role is between $205,000 – $275,000.
