Product Manager, Cyber Security
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
Claude is now proficient at security work—finding and fixing vulnerabilities in real codebases, triaging alerts, and reasoning about attacker movement through systems. It improves with every model we ship. Many security platforms build on Claude, and we launched our first security product this year (Claude Security). You'll lead Anthropic’s cybersecurity product, setting strategy, deciding what we build and where we partner, shipping products, and serving as the company’s voice with CISOs, security vendors, and researchers. Some of this work is 0→1 (our first-party products are a few months old, and the next ones don’t exist yet), while some involves scaling what already works. Security touches nearly every team at the company.
Responsibilities
- Set Anthropic’s cybersecurity product portfolio strategy and be accountable for the results.
- Ship security products, including vulnerability discovery and remediation in Claude Code today and broader capabilities in the future.
- Represent Anthropic externally on security matters with CISOs, vendors, researchers, governments, and the press.
- Partner with research to identify model shortcomings in security tasks and help build a plan to improve.
- Work with safeguards and policy on model access for cybersecurity use cases.
- Keep cross-functional initiatives moving across research, engineering, sales, safeguards, policy, legal, and communications.
Requirements
- Meaningful experience in security, whether building security products, running a security team, or hands-on work in application security, detection and response, vulnerability research, or offensive security.
- Experience building products or businesses from scratch and taking them to paying customers.
- Ability to design for where AI models will be, not just where they are today—treating model limitations as research targets with reliability bars and knowing what to ship in the meantime.
- Strong product judgment and enough technical depth to assess the validity of security findings.
- Willingness to handle unglamorous work.
- Excellent communication skills with CISOs, researchers, and executives alike.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience building and shipping products, especially in the security space.
- Fluency with AI products, including evaluations and model behavior as part of the product surface.
- Technical background or experience working closely with infrastructure/platform teams.
- Strong technical judgment with the ability to dive deep into security and infrastructure topics.
- Structured thinking to break down complex compliance requirements into shippable features.
