About the role
The Product Manager role at Watts is critical in shaping and managing the strategy, performance, and lifecycle of assigned product lines. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, this position focuses on optimizing profit, sales, and brand objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own the management of product portfolio, including value proposition, value delivery model, product roadmaps, and product lifecycle.
- Maximize performance of product line(s) as measured via orders/sales growth, profitability, and cash-flow generation.
- Understand market needs, trends, and competitor intelligence for the given product line(s).
- Design, develop, track, and update competitive intelligence and market penetration database.
- Adhere to product line base cost and margin targets.
- Manage SKU rationalization and line harvesting.
- Coordinate technical product development with teams.
- Accountable for the execution of New Product Development launch (NPD) plans, including coordination of internal and external resources, investment budgets, marketing campaigns/content, and sales plans.
- Develop pricing and positioning recommendations including pricing execution and communication.
- Work with sales and marketing team to develop and refine the product line go-to-market strategy.
- Participate in product line SIOP, partnering with sales on demand planning and ensuring monthly alignment with operations to support market and customer requirements.
- Create and/or support the creation of training materials and lead training sessions to educate customers and Watts sales personnel on product technical features and benefits.
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members.
- Involvement in other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineering/Marketing or related field, with 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience, ideally within target markets related to the specific product line.
- Proven successful track record, experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or related technical markets.
- Proven leadership ability to lead virtual teams and work across a matrix.
- Excellent written communication skills, including clear, informative, and logical writing, and excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building strong team relationships.
- Proactive, creative work style and a self-starter.
- Willingness to travel, as required.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office suite) required.
