Data center infrastructure is evolving fast, and the physical systems that support server and networking equipment are critical to performance and reliability. This role supports nVent’s Data Center Solutions technology platform, contributing to next-generation data center technologies through products developed across our established nVent portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Own and implement end-to-end product lifecycle management, including product line strategy, multi-year roadmaps, and technology plans for engineered, hardware-based product portfolios with global market responsibility.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Development Process (PDP) initiatives by developing strong, data-backed product recommendations, including customer needs, product requirements, feature definition, competitive positioning, financial projections, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance, sales, and marketing to deliver revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality, and timely delivery performance.
  • Lead Voice of the Customer (VOC), market, and competitive research efforts with an emphasis on understanding how products fit into broader data center and networking architectures.
  • Develop and communicate compelling, quantified value propositions and pricing rationale that clearly differentiate products for customers, channel partners, and sales teams.
  • Partner with regional and global marketing teams to support go-to-market strategies, product launches, and creation of sales enablement and marketing collateral.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned product lines, supporting internal teams, customers, and channel partners while driving continuous improvement within the product management function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical or hardware product management, product innovation, or new product development within engineered products, manufacturing, or industrial technology environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting products used in data center environments, with hands-on exposure to networking-adjacent infrastructure, interconnect, enclosure-based systems, or closely related technologies.
  • Strong business and project leadership skills, including experience managing product roadmaps, priorities, and profitability.
  • Experience collaborating with commercial organizations, including sales, marketing, distributors, contractors, and/or manufacturer’s representatives.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% annually, including domestic overnight travel and occasional international travel.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of how products interface within larger systems, including performance, physical integration, and deployment considerations in critically important environments.
  • Hands-on experience, manufacturing exposure, or close collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Consistent track record leading complex, cross-functional, matrixed teams and owning initiatives throughout all stages until commercialization.

Skills

  • Electrical and/or mechanical systems knowledge gained through hands-on experience, manufacturing exposure, or close collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with market research and competitive analysis.

Pay

Pay Transparency: nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply. Compensation Range: $105,000.00 - $195,000.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
