Product Manager
Description
As a Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end product line lifecycle for EPC Power’s inverter-based solutions, from early concept and market definition through development, launch, and long-term lifecycle optimization. This role is highly cross-functional and deeply technical, ideal for candidates who have worked closely with both hardware and software teams and who have experience defining new products for renewables, BESS, UPS, VFD, or data center power applications.
Key Responsibilities
Own product strategy and multi-year product line roadmaps for inverter-based power conversion platforms (PV Inverters, BESS Inverters, UPS, VFD, or adjacent systems).
Lead new product definition efforts, including market assessments, competitive analysis, and customer-facing value propositions.
Develop and maintain Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) and Technical Requirement Documents (TRDs), capturing system-level requirements across hardware, firmware, controls, and software.
Partner closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and technically feasible.
Act as the voice of the customer, balancing market needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
Support early customer engagements, field trials, and feedback loops for new platform introductions.
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on product positioning, datasheets, technical collateral, and go-to-market strategies.
Monitor product performance post-launch and drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and feature evolution.
Cook up with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to ensure successful product execution and lifecycle management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Power Electronics preferred) or a closely related technical discipline.
3+ years of experience in product management, product line management, or systems engineering roles within:
- Power electronics
- Renewable energy systems
- Data center power infrastructure
- UPS, VFD, or energy storage industries
Demonstrated experience developing new hardware-based products from concept through release.
Hands-on experience creating MRDs and TRDs (or equivalent system-level requirements documentation).
Proven ability to work effectively across both inverter hardware and embedded/software development teams.
Strong technical communication skills with the ability to interface with engineering, customers, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PV inverters, BESS inverters, UPS systems, VFDs, or grid-connected power conversion systems.
Product experience supporting data center, utility-scale renewable, or energy storage applications.
Familiarity with grid and power standards such as IEEE 1547, UL 1741, or comparable international standards.
MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
Experience in growth-stage or scaling manufacturing environments.
