Job Summary

Oversees the negotiation, structure and administration of contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors and suppliers for purchasing goods and supplies, equipment, services, systems, software or technical equipment for internal company use.

Ensures favorable terms and volume discounts are negotiated that comply with company policies and procedures, legal requirements and/or other specifications.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities and staff involved in purchasing and procurement of goods and supplies, equipment, services, systems, software or technical equipment for internal company use.
  • Develops, documents, implements and coordinates procurement activities company-wide to maximize scale efficiencies and deliver industry-leading effectiveness.
  • Ensures procurement strategy aligns with company strategy.
  • Develops and negotiates contracts, and implements and monitors procurement processes to ensure efficient execution and best in class acquisitions.
  • Minimizes the company's risk exposure to finance, audit and legal issues.
  • Provides strategic procurement guidance and develops programs, policies and procedures to produce efficiencies and reduce expenses through strategic sourcing.
  • Ensures compliance to formal sourcing/procurement policies and preferred supplier agreements.
  • Directs, reviews, and approves all major sourcing decisions.
  • Manages a team including providing oversight and direction for financial and operational activities.

  • Accountable for the performance and results of a team and/or department.
  • Interprets and administers policies, processes and procedures that affect direct reports and the workflow of the team/department.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Contributes to budget development and performance standards of department and direct reports.
  • Assignments are defined in the form of objectives. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, business plans and independent judgment.
  • Collaborates with team(s), customers/clients, functional peer group managers and occasionally senior management. Participates and presents at meetings with internal and external representatives.

Experience and Education

  • Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
