About the role
Agave is a profitable, fast-growing startup in San Francisco, California, focused on building a financial operations platform for the construction industry. We are seeking a hands-on, technical Product Manager to build new products on top of our proprietary infrastructure, which includes integrations with major construction ERP and project management platforms.
Responsibilities
- Define what gets built based on customer feedback, market signals, and internal expertise.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute on product development, including requirements gathering, scoping, and customer engagement.
- Work closely with Product Analysts, Account Executives, and engineers to ensure timely and high-quality product launches.
- Translate customer needs into technical specifications and prioritize product initiatives.
- Set and drive the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure the product aligns with our platform's compound growth strategy, making future products easier to develop and sell.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software, preferably in a technical role such as Product Analyst, Product Manager, or similar.
- Experience working with APIs, databases, SQL, and related tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate customer needs into technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, including software engineers, CFOs, and other executives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results consistently.
Qualifications
- Technical background, including experience with software development and API integration.
- Structured thinking and attention to detail, with a strong ability to test and refine ideas.
- Experience working with construction companies and understanding their financial processes.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved in the details.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with agile methodologies and rapid product iteration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and construction industry practices.
