Essential Job Functions & Major Tasks

  • Recognize market segment opportunities and cultivate relationships with customers.
  • Establish focus and momentum for product segment and become acknowledged as a competent and knowledgeable product segment professional.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to maintain company focus and prioritize products and services.
  • Support other product managers, negotiate for internal resources, assist other product segments, manage a portfolio of products, develop company sales and marketing strategies, share market intelligence, and derive consensus within the team.
  • Assist with maintaining Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters, managing part numbers, ASAP quotes, NCP and ECO requests.
  • Establish and develop business relationships with cross-functional teams, customers, industry leaders, and major suppliers to ensure competitiveness of product segment.
  • Represent Rice Lake Weighing Systems and product segment(s), develop market information, work with current and new suppliers to identify new business opportunities, and advocate company's reputation as the stocking distributor and manufacturer of choice.
  • Forecast assigned product segment(s) future sales for use by Purchasing, Manufacturing and other departments.
  • Ensure forecast validity, structure, and timeliness.
  • Manage and support the development of assigned product segments' short-term and long-term sales goals and objectives.
  • Develop goals and objectives based on market intelligence, company strategy, and product opportunities.
  • Maintain progress to determine achievement of goals and objectives, adjust based on market information, and ensure that ROI, urgency, and strategic importance are maximized.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, to ensure customers receive application advice and guidance for proposed applications.
  • Organize training of front-line customer employees, recommend customers service improvements, identify service-related failures, and provide customer service leadership by example.
  • Work with customers or customer-facing roles to identify requirements and align proper equipment or services with those requirements.
  • Ensure proper sales process flow and internal and external communications are achieved.
  • Stay abreast of legal, legislative, and other exterior market information to protect and expand business opportunities.
  • Travel to customer locations and other business functions as required.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Technical Field, or related field, or five (5) or more years of scales and measurements experience.
  • Three (3) years or more weighing industry or related industry experience (strongly preferred).

Certificates, Licenses, Training, or Other Job-Related Requirements
