Product Line Manager - Fiber Optics
Position Description
The Product Line Manager serves as the business owner for the Integra Optics product portfolio and is responsible for defining product strategy, developing and managing the roadmap, leading supplier engagement, and driving portfolio growth.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Own the product strategy for the Integra Optics portfolio, with primary emphasis on data center, medical, enterprise, government, and telecommunications.
Build deep understanding of customer needs, current and future, to ensure product portfolio supports focus on customer partnership to drive success.
Identify market gaps, customer needs, competitive opportunities, and develop business cases supported by market analysis, pricing strategy, and revenue projections.
Define and maintain a near-term product roadmap that prioritizes high-impact opportunities across transceivers, fiber-optic cabling, and related connectivity solutions.
Build a long-term roadmap focused on innovation, value, and driving patents.
Drive quick-turn product initiatives with suppliers and internal partners to reduce time to market.
Identify, qualify, and develop supplier relationships that support portfolio growth and supply continuity.
Develop product requirements and supporting documentation that clearly articulate value, technical needs, and ROI.
Lead the end-to-end NPI process, including requirements definition, supplier qualification, sample validation, pricing, collateral development, and launch execution.
Maintain a healthy NPI pipeline and track progress against launch commitments using a disciplined stage-gate approach.
Monitor industry trends, customer applications, and emerging technologies through direct market engagement, research, and participation in relevant industry events.
Partner with sales teams to support opportunity development, deliver product training, and strengthen market positioning.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, the product team, and internal stakeholders across the organization.
Pricing and Profitability
Develop, implement, and monitor market-based pricing strategies that support direct and distribution pricing strategies.
Build and maintain financial models to support pricing decisions, NPI business cases, and large RFPs.
Partner with suppliers and internal teams to improve margin performance, cost competitiveness, and overall portfolio profitability while increasing margins.
Market Intelligence and Customer Engagement
Serve as the market expert for fiber optic transceivers and connectivity solutions, monitoring technology trends such as 400G, 800G, and 1.6T migration, silicon photonics, coherent pluggables, and evolving customer requirements.
Engage directly with customers, channel partners, and industry participants to understand application needs, buying behavior, market drivers, and forecasted trends.
Represent Integra Optics and the ACS Business Unit at customer meetings, trade shows, media opportunities, and industry events as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with sales and business development teams to support strategic opportunities, shape win strategies and provide product and solutions expertise.
Collaborate with marketing to develop effective product and solutions messaging, datasheets, application content, and campaign assets.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the product line by providing guidance and training to channel partners, customers, collaborating with engineering, developing marketing content, and supporting media relations opportunities.
Partner with operations, procurement, marketing, and sales to ensure launch readiness, supply continuity, and fulfillment performance.
Work collaboratively with other product line leaders to develop integrated, system-level solutions across the broader Infinite Electronics portfolio.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
15+ years of experience in product management, with earlier responsibilities in business development, sales, or applications engineering for fiber optic products across multiple markets and applications.
Established relationships with key industry leaders, governing agencies, and industry organizations in the market.
Demonstrated success developing and executing product strategies, roadmaps, and new product launches.
Proven ability to develop and present complex business cases to internal and external stakeholders to gain alignment.
Track record of commercial success in both portfolio growth and new product introduction.
Ability to translate complex technical knowledge into digestible information to support sales and marketing.
Strong interpersonal skills, sound business judgment, a customer-focused mindset, and a proven track record of delivering revenue growth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and professionally in English.
Strong proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Ex, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint), CRM, and ERP.
Experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Frequently remains in a stationary position and occasionally moves about the office or worksite to access files, supplies, or attend meetings.
- Frequently uses hands and fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office tools.
- Must be able to visually assess information on screens, documents, and reports.
- Frequently reads, interprets, and analyzes written and visual information.
- Occasionally lifts or moves items up to [10–15] pounds (e.g., files, laptop, meeting materials).
- Must be able to effectively communicate information and ideas in person, via video conference, and through written communication.
- Works primarily in an office or remote office environment with standard business equipment.
- May require extended periods of screen time.
- May occasionally be required to attend meetings or events outside of normal workspace or business hours.
Work Environment
This role may be either remote or at an office location. Employees may work from their home office and regularly collaborate with colleagues across various company sites during normal or extended business hours, as needed. Office-based work depends on an employee's proximity to an Infinite facility and may be determined by management. Travel is part of this role’s responsibilities, including customer visits, supplier meetings, industry conferences, and internal gatherings.
