Product Liability Engineer # 26-13313

Responsibilities

• Provide technical analysis of the mobile device launched in North America, especially for cases of product liability.
• Aid in the creation, preparation, and critical review of technical reports, technical documents, test procedures, user guides, installation and maintenance manuals.
• Manage multiple projects using common Project Management principles, updating required reports, and keeping management informed of all defect symptoms.
• Conduct daily failure analysis of mobile devices related to product liability claims and safety, utilizing analytical equipment such as X-Ray/CT machine, digital microscope, and overheating test equipment.
• Identify potential improvements to product design and repair serviceability constraints during reverse engineering analysis.
• Provide detailed analysis and reports to R&D based on findings.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance repair productivity and product performance.
• Communicate with management and related teams to ensure and investigate user environments causing defective symptoms, and to deliver product condition and specifications.
• Identify potential performance issues and disseminate pertinent technical and repair information to appropriate personnel.
• Share improvements and experiences in product troubleshooting, failure analysis, diagnostics, and repair techniques with the repair technician team.
• Perform electronics testing using relevant technologies (X-Ray, CT, SEM, EDS).
• Carry out scene and laboratory inspections outside the office.

Requirements

• English/Korean bilingual is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or Analytics.
• At least three years of experience with selection, maintenance, and application of electronic and test equipment (X-Ray, CT, Digital microscope).
• Prior experience in the mobile industry preferred.
• Strong Project Management skills and the ability to prioritize in a complex working environment.
• Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications operating in a Windows XP or NT LAN/WAN environment (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
• The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc.
• The ability to influence others in acceptance, approval, and provide technical clarification.
• The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and tables of information, and plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.
• The ability to read, provide written critical technical reviews, prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures, and technical product repair information.
• Demonstrated English language competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external communications.
• Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
• The demonstrated ability to solve complex problems involving highly diverse conditions, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things.
• Exposed to situations where only broad and general guidelines for solving problems exist.
