Job Description

The main function of a system validation engineer is to coordinate validation efforts for multiple features relating to various vehicle systems and technologies. This role involves performing integration bench level testing on new safety-critical features, developing test methods, and analyzing data to troubleshoot issues.

  • Perform integration bench level testing on multiple new safety critical features.
  • Create, manage, and execute test plans.
  • Develop test methods and models to test new safety critical components and features.
  • Capture and analyze data to troubleshoot issues.
  • Generate and release testing reports.
  • Provide an interface for the team to other departments and suppliers.
  • Develop and lead test methods in this growing area.
  • Cookordination with test engineers at other locations testing active safety subsystems on bench to correlate data and split testing workload.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • 10+ years of experience is required.
  • Familiarity with GMLAN or CAN based communication.
  • Knowledge of safety critical software and systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms.
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in the use of Matlab and Simulink.
  • Proficiency in the use of CAN tools (CaNoE, Vehicle Spy, Vbox, Rt 3000).
  • Previous subsystem testing experience in automotive.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles.
