About the role
The Product Engineer III at Lozier is responsible for performing various functions such as problem-solving, facilitating, change-agent, innovating, resourcefulness, designing, and managing projects. This role involves working on broad issues as assigned or arising in the designated area.
Responsibilities
- Champion Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier’s success.
- Successfully complete projects that are broad in nature, including defining projects, setting goals, and communicating projects to multidisciplinary teams.
- Work from sales requests, customer quote requests, Product Change Requests (PCR’s), and New Item Releases (NIR’s) for cost reduction or functional enhancements.
- Check drawings developed and drawn by others in the form of PCR’s and NIR’s.
- Aid in determining when samples may need to be fabricated to validate fit/function parameters and/or to send to customers for approval.
- Generate necessary shop drawings and assist, guide, and mentor support personnel in design-related matters.
- Work with cross-functional teams on cost estimating for quotes or to determine optimum design alternatives.
- Establish installation instructions and identify safety-related issues, including misuse of product (to ensure appropriate warnings are included).
- Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
- Ability to work and interact well with others.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Product design or engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of applicable engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, good written and oral communications, excellent organizational skills, ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency, ability to make timely decisions, average to above average PC Skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field. Product design or engineering preferred.
