About the role
The Product Engineer I position at Cytiva is responsible for supporting projects to resolve customer and manufacturing issues using data-driven structured problem-solving methodologies. This role participates in new product introduction (NPI) activities, including data collection, protocol execution, and documentation support for process validation and qualification.
Responsibilities
- Support structured problem-solving activities (5 Whys, basic PSP) by collecting data, documenting findings, and assisting with root cause analysis under guidance.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing process and quality data to support CTQ identification and monitoring of process performance.
- Participate in NPI activities, including data collection, protocol execution, and documentation support for process validation and qualification.
- Support raw material changes by helping collect supplier data, executing test protocols, and documenting results for engineering assessments.
- Maintain and update process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, control plans) in alignment with change control requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and internship/co-op experience).
- 0–3 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality (internships/co-ops highly valued).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes; exposure to polymeric materials or life sciences manufacturing is a plus.
- Foundational knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, basic root cause analysis); familiarity with DBS concepts preferred.
- Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis (SPC, DOE concepts), with ability to learn and apply under guidance.
- Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP/ISO) is a plus.
Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
