Apply now for this opportunity at Carex! Carex is partnering with a healthtech startup partner to hire a Product Engineer (Full Stack) based in San Francisco, CA (Hybrid – 4 days/week onsite). This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, venture-backed startup that is transforming health plan administration through modern software and AI. The Product Engineer will play a critical role in building products from zero to one, owning features from concept through production. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working across the stack, and is passionate about using technology to simplify complex healthcare operations. What You'll Do Build and deploy new product features end-to-end across the full technology stack using Python and Next.js/TypeScript. Partner closely with customers and teammates to understand problems, design solutions, and rapidly ship impactful products. Own the full lifecycle of features, from requirements gathering and architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration. Contribute to an engineering culture that values shipping high-quality code frequently and continuously improving products based on user feedback. Develop AI-powered claims review and adjudication capabilities designed to identify inaccuracies and improve operational efficiency. Create financial infrastructure and money movement capabilities inspired by modern fintech platforms. Build self-service administrative tools that simplify complex health plan and insurance workflows. Improve member-facing experiences that increase engagement, usability, and outcomes. Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize initiatives and deliver meaningful business impact. Help shape technical architecture and engineering best practices as the platform continues to scale. What You'll Bring 3+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer delivering production-quality applications. Strong experience building and maintaining applications using Python and TypeScript, or comparable technologies with demonstrated ability to learn quickly. Experience shipping code regularly and owning products or features from conception to launch. Proven ability to work across front-end and back-end systems in a startup or high-growth technology environment. Experience developing modern web applications, APIs, and scalable software systems. Familiarity with Next.js or similar modern front-end frameworks. Prior experience in healthcare technology, health insurance, fintech, payments, or financial processing environments is strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Passion for improving healthcare through technology and enthusiasm for working onsite as part of a highly collaborative team. Demonstrated career progression and stability, with a track record of impact and ownership. Base salary range is $140k-$180k plus equity.
