This role focuses on the qualification of GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices for data center markets. You will drive new product development from kickoff (KO) to release to market (RTM) and beyond, working on cutting-edge GaN technology and shaping innovation across TI and the broader market.

The ideal candidate has experience in qualification execution, preferably with high voltage power devices. This is an opportunity to impact emerging GaN markets as part of a growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging, and Reliability to achieve new product development goals.
  • Align with the QRE team to generate die and package qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices.
  • Own and drive execution of the product qualification plan, including development milestones, risk assessment, mitigation, review of qualification and test plans, data analysis, documentation, manufacturing approval, and product release.
  • Design qualification hardware for stresses such as dynamic HTOL, Biased HAST, and Power Temp Cycle, including pattern generation and measurements.
  • Submit and guide failure analysis (FA) to determine root causes of reliability and qualification failures.
  • Drive cost reduction, capacity expansion, and quality enhancement activities, including manufacturing platform simplifications, process/package/test optimization.
  • Manage production escalations with factory engineers, assess risk, and make disposition decisions on production material with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
  • Interact with PPIT partners to define, co-develop, and release new technologies as part of the GaN roadmap.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 4C, failure analysis, experimental design, statistical analysis, and bench testing to resolve yield and quality issues.
  • Analyze customer returns, drive root cause meetings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Document gaps, lessons learned, and best practices for future NPDE PE teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of electronic devices and circuits.
  • Proficiency in statistics and tools (Spotfire, JMP, Mbayse, or similar) for analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, and loads for data collection, device debug, failure analysis, and ATE correlation.
  • PCB design experience (e.g., Altium, Cadence).
  • Experience with product engineering activities such as yield improvement and test time reduction.
  • Programming/scripting skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or VBA.
  • Experience operating and collecting data on the ETS364.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate across functions.
  • Strong time management skills enabling on-time project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
