Product Engineer
Jabil is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to work at the Richardson, TX site.
About the role
As a Senior Product Engineer with Jabil, you will be the primary point of contact for all process and product development for any production programs and/or developmental efforts. You will have oversight of the product assembly from kit to ship while also being involved in the program's life cycle from kickoff to contract closure. You will collaborate with customers, engineers, quality, and technical experts.
Responsibilities
- Review customer Bill of Materials and implement any Engineering Change Orders while working with engineers and material for customer changes and implementation.
- Responsible for assembly methods, material selection, and process development for current and next-generation technologies, with a heavy emphasis on "hands-on" material properties and automated assembly.
- Evaluate materials and processes (including qualification, new product introductions, acceptance testing, and specification development), including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
- Interface with various functions including Quality, Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Operations.
- Flexibility to support on-call and on-site production (if needed).

- Assembly processes and "hands-on" understanding of equipment used for circuit assemblies (SMT).
- Origination of assembly instructions and the translation of the technical data package to the manufacturing data package.
- Analysis of product quality and process controls.
- Evaluation of non-conforming materials.
- Qualification of a product to Jabil standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or other similar related discipline OR other combination of education or experience.
A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in Product Engineering, with a track record of successfully bringing products from concept to high-volume production.
Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, including PowerPoint and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with assemblies, including surface mount technology (SMT), component underfill, staking, and solvent cleaning processes.
- Experience with SAP, MES, statistical data handling and analysis, root cause/corrective action, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in documentation and analysis of engineering drawings, understanding of CAD Software, and presenting analysis results.
- Knowledge of advanced adhesives, solders, plating schemes, environmentally protective coatings, and other materials used in the assembly of PCBA's.
