Product Engineer
About the role
The Product Engineer position at Supermicro provides an extraordinary opportunity to support the Engineering team. You will assist in the development of mechanical products, evaluate mechanical designs, assure product quality through testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist development of mechanical products by studying customer requirements and applying engineering principles to design products such as bezels, brackets, chassis, etc.
- Evaluate mechanical design of chassis and servers, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
- Assure product quality by designing testing methods, testing both sample and finished products, and confirming manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
- Work with the product manager to define and release planning, product design, and support of development activities, regulatory compliance, and management of product life cycle.
- Solicit and collect new requirements needed for Supermicro chassis / server products.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the chassis / server platform is effectively leveraged throughout the product portfolio.
- Support the product manager in coordinating cross-function teams for sustaining supports like RMA, Failure Analysis, ECO implementations.
- Provide documentation and technical know-how to support chassis/server product lines.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Engineering, or other relevant engineering field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of system or mechanical engineering experience is desirable.
- Experience in configuring computer systems.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Solid background in mechanical engineering is a must.
- Experience in ProE, CAD design.
- Good communication skills, including both written and verbal.
Qualifications

Benefits
Supermicro offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $138,000, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
