About the role

Here's the problem you'd own. When a practice signs, someone has to go figure out how they actually run today — how leads get worked, where they leak, how the front desk really operates — and turn that into a plan: what we ship day one, what we layer in over the first month, what's worth building for them down the line. Then someone has to actually do it. Wire up the integrations, port the phones, build the workflows, stand up the automations. And then keep watching the numbers and proposing what's next, because we don't implement and walk away — we're in it with these practices for the long haul. But because the product is still being built, the job doesn't stop at delivery. You're one of the sharpest signals we have about what to build next. You see the same needs surface across practices, and you turn that into product — writing PRDs, shaping requirements, helping the core product team sequence what gets built and when. You're not just deploying the product; you're helping define it.

Requirements

  • A senior IC engineer who still builds.
  • Staff level or the honest equivalent: founding engineer, early engineer with broad ownership, tech lead who never stopped shipping.
  • Most people who fit have 8 to 16 years of backend-heavy full-stack work behind them and have built in real 0-to-1 conditions, where the spec didn't exist until they wrote it.
  • You've shipped production systems in Python or TypeScript, ideally both, and hands-on AI agent work (architecture, orchestration, guardrails, evals) is a strong plus.
  • If you've done technical work directly with customers or frontline users and owned whether it worked, even better.
  • You can run a discovery call and write a clean PRD, then go wire the thing up yourself.
  • You've owned ambiguous problems end to end, you have taste about what's worth building versus buying versus skipping, and you treat someone else's slow front desk as a problem you can't wait to fix.

  • You're US-based.
