Product Engineer

About the role

The vehicle product engineer will be the technical point of contact for our commercial-based military vehicle platform, from request for quote to vehicle delivery. This individual will interpret technical customer requirements, identify scope of compliance, construct vehicle configurations, and create/execute engineering project plans. The position offers broad technical exposure across all aspects of vehicle product development.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and complete internal/external compliance matrix response.
• Configure vehicle specifications to meet customer requirements and application needs.
• Support the development of engineering basis of estimate (BOE)s; lead execution of approved BOEs.
• Serve as engineering point of contact for all on-contract programs for the commercial-based military vehicle platform.
• Collaborate with program management, business development, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, ILS, and transportation teams.
• Engage with US-based and international customers, providing engineering support throughout all program phases.
• Develop and maintain vehicle and sub-system level Bills of Material (BOM).
• Lead change control management for on-contract orders.
• Travel as needed to support truck equipment integration and vehicle inspections (approximately 5% of time).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering.
• Ability to manage and/or support vehicle programs from an engineering perspective.
• Understanding of vehicle-level systems and sub-systems, including their interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong grasp of core engineering principles.
• Experience solving complex technical problems.
• Effective communication skills across multiple disciplines and audiences.
• Ability to perform hands-on tasks on heavy-duty trucks, if necessary.
• US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the commercial and/or military heavy truck vehicle market.
• Hands-on technical experience in or outside the workplace.
• Familiarity with Siemens TeamCenter & NX.
