About the role
The Product Engineer will be the liaison between manufacturing and design engineering. They will troubleshoot and resolve issues, review mechanical and electrical designs, provide feedback to design engineers, support field service, interpret customer drawings, and assist in the manufacture and support of Maverick standard products.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact between production and engineering troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise.
- Support Maverick’s manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
- Review mechanical and electrical designs using 3D CAD software for power distribution for correctness and adherence to proper UL Standard.
- Provide feedback to design engineers as needed on mechanical and electrical designs.
- Work side-by-side with design engineering team on new product developments.
- Support Field Service during installation, commissioning and troubleshooting both remotely as well as onsite as required.
- Interpret customer bid package drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, plan layouts and specifications.
- Support the manufacture of Maverick standard products by reviewing orders, drawings, and ERP bills of material prior to order release.
- Provide technical support for Maverick standard products to both internal and external customers.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School OR Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR Military equivalent for 5 years.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, 2 years minimum.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings.
- Strong problem solving & interpersonal skills.
- Able to interact with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
- Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 67, UL 1558, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI C37, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.
- Knowledge of low voltage switchboard (UL891)/ switchgear design (UL1558)/panelboard (UL67), installation, and use.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes governing the installation and use of low voltage switchgear.
- Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams including front elevation, one-line, and schematic drawings.
- Excellent problem resolution skills.
- Must comply with all company policies.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
- May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings.
- Maintain the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
