About the role
Gaia is transforming fertility care to make it accessible by building the technology infrastructure that automates care navigation, financing, clinic operations, and risk tracking. In this role you will architect the Gaia Orchestrator, AI‑native operations layer, real‑time underwriting engine, and member‑facing experiences, working within a highly regulated, emotionally charged, financially complex, and technically fragmented environment.
Responsibilities
- Own slices of the Gaia Orchestrator: design and implement state machines, workflows, and integrations with external systems that were not built to talk to each other.
- Build and extend the AI‑native operations layer: create LLM‑powered agents and scheduled routines for ops, compliance, and member workflows.
- Develop the real‑time underwriting engine: work on predictive models and the data pipelines that feed risk assessments.
- Craft member‑facing experiences from pre‑cycle intake to outcome reporting, ensuring each interaction respects the emotionally charged journey of family building.
- Ensure all solutions meet HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, and PHI constraints.
- Build robust integrations across fragmented healthcare systems and make them resilient to real‑world messiness.
- Collaborate in small cross‑functional teams, ship in small iterations with early user feedback, and favor simple solutions over unnecessary complexity.
- Leverage AI as the default tooling (Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc.) to write code, triage bugs, automate compliance workflows, and run operations.
- Utilize the Gaia tech stack: strongly typed Python and TypeScript, Next.js, React.js, MariaDB, Redis, DBT, Prefect, Fivetran, Snowflake, AWS, Vercel, Pulumi
