Product Engineer

Relocation assistance is provided for anyone residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous product sustaining, certification, and development support to ensure manufacturability, safety, quality, and marketability of Eaton products.
• Support electrical products, including commercial and industrial fittings, cable tray systems, mechanical supports, and related components.
• Independently create, maintain, and update engineering documentation such as CAD drawings and models, technical specifications, bills of material (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs), work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, sourcing, marketing, and quality teams across multiple manufacturing sites and office locations to ensure product continuity, compliance, quality, and manufacturability.
• Exercise sound engineering judgment when addressing product and process issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and recommend effective solutions aligned with preferred manufacturing methods and processes.
• Support and execute the certification strategy for products and manufacturing locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one internship/co-op.

Qualifications

• Electrical products knowledge.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Proficiency with engineering software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).
• Proficiency with Product Data Management systems (preferably SAP, Enovia).
• Project management experience.
