Product Engineer

This position is based in Haltom City, TX.

About the role

Performs advanced engineering tasks with limited supervision and mentors the design team throughout the product development lifecycle. Designs, develops, and tests products to meet specifications and quality standards. Collaborates with R&D to convert concepts into functional products, using engineering principles and CAD tools to create prototypes and models.

Responsibilities

• Participate in industry groups.
• Perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision.
• Oversee all aspects of a significant engineering project, from start to finish, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
• Develop an action plan and estimate requirements for resources—management, labor, materials, and time required to complete the project.
• Prepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for top management.
• Use CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, and FEA.
• Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, and provide advice on issues within the engineering field.
• Analyze and identify causes of component failures.
• Provide technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues or address customer field issues; familiarity with multiple operations.
• Lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development using team management skills.
• Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status within and beyond the project team.
• Complete assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of engineering team, contractors, and vendors.
• Lead brainstorming activities for specific needs.
• Participate in value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) projects and process improvement activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, material utilization, and labor efficiency.
• Gather and analyze operational, labor, material, and quality data to support project selection and execution.
• Develop savings estimates, track project progress, and validate results with stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of related work experience or training.
• Six Sigma or FMEA experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to solve complex problems.
• Experience leading Kaizen-related or Continuous Improvement activities.
• Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
