Responsibilities

  • Analyzes design inputs to determine feasibility for intended application.
  • Understands and applies appropriate customer, internal, federal, and industrial standards to designs.
  • Maintains understanding of in-house, supplier, and customer manufacturing processes to ensure design compatibility.
  • Prepares design specifications for each application.
  • Counsults during product development (customer, internal, supplier).
  • Issues appropriate design documents to support program development (APQP or NPDS) activities.
  • Issues product prints and design changes as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with suppliers and internal departments to coordinate required development, sample builds, and validation testing of designs.
  • Supports customers, suppliers, and in-house departments with design issues.
  • Proposes VA/VE ideas to support cost targets.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of position-related experience; preferably 6 to 8 years of position-related experience.
  • 20% travel required.
