In this role, you will directly contribute to the Global Products Engineering group at Lam Research.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in global platform field escalations, with an emphasis on Lam platforms for Etch, Deposition, and Clean products (wafer handling/robotics experience required).
• Analyze research data and product specifications.
• Acquire and apply engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems.
• Conduct and design well-defined experiments and tests pertaining to the development of new methods, processes, hardware, standards, modification of current material, components, software, or process specifications, and the resolution of complex technical problems.
• Institute and own corrective actions, following through to assure proper release and handoff of solutions to Technical Services and Field Process/Field Service organizations.
• Be highly quantitative and able to articulate plans, including findings, data collected, and progress to Lam’s customers on a regular basis.

Requirements

• 8 years of semiconductor equipment experience.
• Direct experience in semiconductor mechatronics product support (a plus).
• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent; MS degree or PhD (a plus).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior robotics, product support, and technical engineer experience.
• Working knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCCA), 8D, and 5-Why Problem Solving.
• Understanding of GD&T and commonly used drawing standards.
• Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience with customer communications.
• Individual and team contributor with a go-getter attitude, self-drive, and motivation.
• Prior product design and technical engineer experience.
• Experience coordinating and communicating with cross-functional teams.

Pay

Salary range for this position in the California, San Francisco Bay Area: $104,000.00 - $231,000.00. Salary offers depend on factors including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role. Actual salary may vary due to numerous factors including unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company-mandated shutdowns, and other relevant considerations.

Lam offers hybrid work models based on role needs:

• On-site Flex: Work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week.
• Virtual Flex: Work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
