Product Director, ZPA
About the role
We are looking for a Product Director to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, reporting to the Director, Product Management in the product management department. This role will lead strategy, roadmap, and adoption for critical ZPA platform initiatives, focusing on driving foundational platform capabilities that improve scalability, resiliency, operational efficiency, and customer adoption across a complex enterprise product portfolio.
What You’ll Do (Role Expectations)
- Define and drive the roadmap for key infrastructure and platform capabilities
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, operations, and field teams to identify priorities and deliver high-impact platform enhancements
- Define and prioritize resiliency investments, including health checks, recovery mechanisms, and service robustness improvements
- Translate customer, field, and partner feedback into clear product requirements, roadmap priorities, and measurable business outcomes
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders and align teams on strategy, sequencing, and execution tradeoffs
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
- 10+ years of product management experience, with deep experience in cloud infrastructure, platform, networking, security, or enterprise software
- Deep practitioner-level experience with compute virtualization and containerization technologies, including Kubernetes, with strong understanding of deploying, scaling, and operating distributed infrastructure services across enterprise and hybrid cloud environments
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture, platform services, and operational reliability
- Prominent track record of defining and executing roadmaps for highly technical platform capabilities
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience leveraging AI/ML tools or predictive analytics to optimize cloud infrastructure utilization, automate capacity planning, or enhance platform self-healing and resiliency features
- Proven ability to balance long-term platform strategy with near-term engineering delivery needs and influence without direct authority
