About the role

We are seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of seasonal paper-goods collections. This role combines product development with strong project management and commercial awareness. You will drive product innovation, develop customer programs, communicate with factories, oversee timelines, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure our assortments resonate with customers while meeting margin and quality targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal product lines including gift wrap, gift bags, tags, greeting cards, stationery, and décor.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept through production and delivery.
  • Partner with design, sales, and sourcing teams to align on trends, themes, and customer needs.
  • Develop product specification briefs, assortments, and line plans based on market insights and sales data.
  • Use strong Excel skills to create and deliver all commercials within the product line plans, including product specifications, margins, tariffs, duties, and customer landed margins.
  • Track project timelines and ensure key milestones are met across multiple seasons simultaneously.
  • Source materials and work closely with vendors to achieve quality, cost, and sustainability goals.
  • Review prototypes, samples, and production runs to ensure product integrity and brand standards.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences to inform new concepts.
  • Work with factories overseas (Asia) and domestic markets (USA/Mexico).
  • Present to major retailer buyers and product-development teams.
  • Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to support go-to-market strategies.
  • Manage budgets, costing, and pricing strategies to meet margin objectives.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and speed-to-market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, preferably in paper goods, stationery, or seasonal products.
  • Strong understanding of printing processes, materials, and packaging production.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office (Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
