Product Development Engineer II (E3)
Job Summary
Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet company, seeks a Product Development Engineer II (E3) to join our R&D team in Englewood, Colorado. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design of innovative medical solutions that improve mobility and enhance lives.
About the Role
This position involves producing deliverables from ideation to commercialization, collaborating with a project team, and driving innovation. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field with 3-7 years of development experience in medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate competitive products for performance characteristics
- Conceptualize new design ideas with an understanding of existing inadequacies
- Perform parametric modeling and detailed design of P28 implants and instruments
- Create design control documentation for P28 design history files
- Develop and assist in the testing of new and existing products
- Assist in evaluating new suppliers and developing inspection plans
- Aid in publication efforts with the Clinical Affairs team
- Observe surgeries and translate observations into design solutions
- Document all notes and serve as a technical expert resource
- Assist with other development projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 3-7 years of development experience in medical devices
- Prior experience in taking medical devices from ideation to commercialization
- Understanding of medical device industry regulatory requirements
- Experience with CAD, particularly SolidWorks
- High proficiency in MS Office
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment

Schedule
Full-time position with up to 10% overnight travel expected
