About the Role

We're looking for a Product Development Associate to join our New Product Development (NPD) team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving open-ended problems, and evaluating new datasets and product opportunities. You'll play a key role in assessing third-party datasets, supporting new product development, and identifying opportunities that create value for clients and the business. You'll collaborate with engineering, partnerships, and business stakeholders to drive projects from idea through evaluation and recommendation. This is a highly independent individual contributor role offering significant autonomy, with access to support and collaboration as needed. You'll often tackle problems without prescribed solutions, determining the best approach, analysis, and path forward. We expect work hours aligned with East/West Coast time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and build upon third-party datasets to assess quality, business value, and potential use cases.
  • Define key questions, success metrics, and analytical frameworks for open-ended projects.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Support the development and improvement of new products, datasets, and data-driven initiatives.
  • Work alongside other analysts to plan, develop, and execute complex projects.
  • Prioritize high-impact opportunities and drive progress with autonomy.
  • Explore new use cases, methodologies, and applications for datasets and products.
  • Leverage AI tools, LLMs, and automation to improve research, analysis, and productivity.
  • Contribute to team knowledge, tooling, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively across engineering, partnerships, product, and business teams.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, data science, alternative data, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL and/or PySpark skills, with comfort working with large datasets.
  • Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and insights.
  • Strong judgment and use of data to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Comfort using AI tools and LLMs to improve efficiency while maintaining critical thinking.
  • Thrive in open-ended environments with high ownership and autonomy.
  • Clear communication and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with engineering and business teams.
  • Curious, experimental, and excited to uncover new opportunities.

Benefits

  • Flexible work hours and flexible vacation.
  • Generous 401K match.
  • Parental leave.
  • Team events and wellness budget.
  • Learning reimbursement.
  • Growth determined by impact, not tenure or office politics.
  • Empowered learning and skill mastery in an environment focused on ownership, respect, and trust.

Pay

The annual base compensation for this position is anticipated to be up to $135K. The final offer may vary based on experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal benchmarks. The total compensation package includes base salary, equity, and benefits. This role may be performed fully remotely within the United States, with income subject to New York State tax withholding if applicable.
