About The Role

We are seeking a Product Design Lead to oversee UX/UI design across our Ü Snacks brand portfolio. This pivotal role involves leading the design efforts for launching new products, optimizing site performance, and enhancing user flows within our ecommerce ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach, capable of building scalable design systems, improving conversion rates, and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams including growth, engineering, and marketing.

The ideal candidate will also manage and mentor a direct report, setting high standards for craft and fostering professional growth. This role offers the opportunity to impact how our brands appear online, ensuring consistency, quality, and conversion optimization, all while working remotely within a high-trust environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Ecommerce, you will be instrumental in driving design excellence and innovation across our digital platforms.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in product, UX, or UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing on-brand, premium work.
  • At least 5+ years designing for premium DTC ecommerce platforms, particularly on Shopify or Shopify Plus.
  • Experience building or rebuilding comprehensive design systems, including tokens, components, documentation, and governance, with proven adoption.
  • Deep understanding of DTC funnel mechanics such as PDP, cart, checkout, subscription, and upsell strategies, with the ability to explain design decisions in conversion terms.
  • Experience managing multiple brands or product lines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with a strong inclination to incorporate AI tools to accelerate the design process.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience mentoring or managing designers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX/UI design efforts across the entire ecommerce funnel, focusing on improving conversion rates from product pages to checkout.
  • Design and implement experiences for new product and brand launches that align with packaging quality and brand standards.
  • Own and evolve the company's cross-brand design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and high quality in every asset.
  • Translate brand guidelines into compelling digital experiences, paying close attention to typography, motion, imagery, and information hierarchy.
  • Collaborate with the CRO team to develop and test high-quality, on-brand landing page variants to optimize performance.
  • Manage and mentor a direct report, fostering growth, setting high standards, and ensuring design excellence.
  • Review and calibrate work across the design team and external agency partners, maintaining a high bar for quality and consistency.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate best practices into design processes to continuously elevate the user experience.
  • Operate as a hands-on contributor, shipping work personally while also raising the team's overall craft and output quality.
