About the role
As a Product Designer 1, you will design and improve digital products that support audit, tax, advisory, and firm-operations workflows across the organization. You will own design work for defined features or workflows, translating complex requirements into clear, usable solutions in data-heavy, regulated environments. This role is for a mid-level individual contributor who brings strong UX fundamentals, solid visual and interaction design skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Designing end-to-end user experiences for defined features or workflows, including user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, UI, and prototypes
- Translating complex business processes into clear, usable designs that account for edge cases, permissions, auditability, and regulatory constraints
- Creating interfaces that help users quickly understand system status, find information, and take appropriate next actions
- Reducing cognitive load while respecting necessary domain complexity and compliance requirements
- Applying and contributing to shared design systems, components, patterns, and documentation
- Balancing consistency and flexibility to support evolving product needs without introducing one-off UI
- Partnering with Product Managers to clarify problems, user impact, and success measures
- Collaborating early and often with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible and implemented as intended
- Providing clear design specifications, assets, and interaction details to support delivery
- Participating in Agile delivery rituals, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Iterating on designs based on feedback, changing priorities, technical constraints, and learnings
- Participating in design reviews and critiques to improve overall design quality
- Communicating design concepts, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders
- Ensuring designs meet usability, accessibility, and quality standards, particularly for client-facing experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related role
- A portfolio demonstrating system-level thinking, strong problem framing, and clear design rationale
- Strong foundation in UX, UI, interaction design, information architecture, and workflow mapping
- Proficiency in Figma, including component usage and collaboration workflows
- Experience working within or contributing to design systems
- Ability to use research insights, usability feedback, and data to inform design decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering partners
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing enterprise or internal tools, particularly in data-heavy or regulated environments
- Exposure to client-facing product experiences
- Experience supporting usability testing or research activities
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery models
- Exposure to AI-assisted design tools or AI-enabled product experiences
- Experience with platforms such as Power Apps, Power BI, or similar enterprise tools
- Comfort collaborating across time zones and participating in working sessions during overlap hours
