Based onsite in Wilton, CT, you will develop a wide range of original children’s products that deliver on our mission while driving incremental revenue growth. You will take products from initial concept through to final production, collaborating closely with Brand, Content, Licensing, Packaging, Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams. How will you create impact? Develop innovative children’s products utilizing a wide range of materials including wood, plastic, metal, and fabricTranslate consumer trends, market insights, and marketing briefs into unique, market-viable product conceptsRender and sketch product designs rapidly to present concepts for management approvalGenerate accurate 2D and 3D product specifications and drawings that account for cost, ergonomics, safety, and manufacturing constraintsBuild physical prototypes utilizing workshop tools and 3D printers to test design conceptsCollaborate with the Content team to integrate graphic, editorial, and illustrative assets onto productsPartner with Packaging and Structural Packaging teams to define product layout and overall packaging dimensionsReview and provide technical feedback on manufacturing drawings and overseas prototypesMaintain constant communication with cross-functional creative and development partners throughout the entire design lifecycle What are your skills and experience? Undergraduate degree (BFA) in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related fieldProfessional product design experience within the consumer products or toy industry, with preferred experience in the infant categoryTechnical drawing and sketching expertise with the ability to quickly communicate product conceptsAdvanced knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, with specific emphasis on wood and plasticsComplete understanding of design for manufacturing, including cost drivers, capabilities, and tooling limitationsExpertise in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks and digital rendering using KeyShotProficiency in 2D design platforms including Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopA professional portfolio demonstrating a strong balance of aesthetic form, technical drawing accuracy, and structural product development The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Connecticut is $68,200 to $90,900 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
